Nobody else stopped...

An account of a traffic accident I witnessed involving a homeless man and a 50 mph minivan.

I know this is old, but just wanted to say thanks for helping and being a decent human being. Many members of my family have given aid to accident victims, and I always admire that quality in another person. Selfless sacrifice and decency to other human beings is definitively lacking in our society today.

Though this is a few years later. I want to say how much it is appreciated that you did stop and care to help out with Sam. It is a sign of what type of character you have and your compassion for others.

This is in 2014 but actually things are worse. We now have an Iphone 5s, a couple variatinos of ipads. We have become so wrapped up on their phones and their technology. This world has become selfish. We have become so cold and ruthless with our own little worlds. I can't emphasize enough how grateful I am for you to be one of the few decent people around with me to be a kind person. I hope all of us will realize this some day.

I'm so sorry you witnessed that. I witnessed something horrifying as we'll a few years back. I think in 2011. My mom was driving in the freeway and I was in the passenger seat. We looked up ahead and we see something glowing on the road. It turns out they were roadside flares and on the other side of those flares were ambulances, a truck, police cars, and a crashed car upside down and all burnt up. It was one of the scariest things I witnessed on the freeway.

You did the right thing JANG. Stopping to help, and offer aid to that homeless guy was an act of selflessness simply because you wanted to help him out instead of going to visit one of your friends' house.
